Why Pray to the Holy Trinity Each Day?
The Holy Trinity — one God in three Persons — is the central mystery of the Christian faith. Everything in our faith flows from this truth. We were baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We begin and end our prayers with the Sign of the Cross invoking the Trinity. And we will spend eternity in the presence of the Trinity in Heaven.
When we begin each day by directing our prayer to each Person of the Trinity individually — as this beautiful prayer does — we are placing our entire day under the guidance of:
God the Father’s Omnipotence: The all-powerful Creator who sustains every moment of our existence. By asking for His help in our weakness, we acknowledge that without Him we can do nothing.
God the Son’s Wisdom: Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh, who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). By asking His wisdom to direct our thoughts, words, and actions, we submit our day to His perfect guidance.
God the Holy Spirit’s Love: The Spirit of Love who proceeds from the Father and the Son, the source of all holiness. By asking the Holy Spirit to be the “source and beginning” of all our soul’s operations, we invite divine love to animate everything we do.
The Power of an Indulgenced Prayer
