“O Blessed Mother Mary,
As Catholic women, we turn to you each morning with hearts full of gratitude and devotion. You are the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and we seek your loving intercession to bless our day.
In your gentle and maternal care, we find solace and hope. Just as you offered comfort and guidance to your Son, Jesus, in his earthly life, we beseech you to watch over us and our loved ones.
Bless us, dear Mother, with the grace to face each new day with faith and courage. Through your intercession, may our hearts be filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help us to embrace the challenges and joys of the day ahead with a spirit of love and kindness.
As Catholic women, we often carry heavy burdens and responsibilities. We entrust them to you, knowing that your motherly love can lighten our loads and bring us strength. Please intercede for us in our needs, both spoken and unspoken.
Guide us in our decisions, so that we may make choices that reflect the love of your Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to be virtuous and faithful women, shining examples of your grace in this world.
Mother Mary, as we begin each morning, we ask for your blessings upon our families, friends, and all those we encounter. May your maternal love touch their lives and draw them closer to the heart of your Son.
In moments of doubt and despair, be our refuge and our hope. In times of joy and celebration, be our companion and our source of thanksgiving.
With you, dear Mother, we find the strength to live out our faith as Catholic women. We place our trust in your loving hands and ask for your blessings upon us this and every morning.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.”
May this prayer bring comfort and inspiration to Catholic women, inviting the blessings and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary into their daily lives.
Why Begin Each Morning with Mary?
The practice of beginning each day with a prayer to the Virgin Mary is one of the oldest and most fruitful habits in Catholic spirituality. The saints universally recommended this practice — not because Mary is more important than God, but because she is our most powerful intercessor who leads us directly to her Son.
Saint Louis de Montfort, in his classic True Devotion to Mary, taught that consecrating each day to Mary transforms the ordinary actions of daily life into acts of profound spiritual worth. “To Jesus through Mary” is not just a slogan — it is the path of the Gospel itself, since it was through Mary that God entered human history.
The Blessings Mary Brings Each Morning
When we turn to Mary at the start of each day and ask her intercession, we are placing ourselves under the protection of the most powerful intercessor in heaven. The blessings that flow from this morning devotion include:
Peace of mind: Mary’s presence calms anxiety and brings the supernatural peace that comes from knowing we are protected.
Clarity of purpose: Asking Mary to guide our day helps orient our actions toward what is truly important.
Protection from evil: The Church has always taught that devotion to Mary is a powerful weapon against spiritual attack.
Grace for the day’s challenges: Mary, who obtained the first miracle at Cana (John 2), continues to obtain from her Son the graces we need for each situation we face.
The Morning Offering — Adding to This Prayer
Many Catholics combine the Morning Prayer to Mary with the Morning Offering — a short prayer that dedicates the entire day to God through Mary’s intercession:
“O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all our associates, and in particular for the intentions of our Holy Father. Amen.”
Pray this alongside the morning Marian prayer above, and watch how your entire day becomes an act of prayer — not just the moments you spend on your knees.
Mary’s Promise to Those Who Honour Her Each Morning
Our Lady of Fatima promised: “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” Beginning each morning in her company is a concrete way to take shelter in that refuge. She will not abandon those who seek her maternal care. Good morning, Mary. Lead me to your Son today.
