1. A Poor Farm Boy with a Rich Soul
Born in 1391 in a tiny Italian village, little Domenico Gangala grew up working the fields. His family had almost nothing… except faith.
But even as a child, he had a brilliant mind and a burning desire for God. His teachers were stunned at how quickly he learned. God was already preparing him.
2. He Meets the Franciscans… and Everything Changes
As a young man, Domenico discovered the Franciscan friars and was instantly drawn to their joy and simplicity. He entered the order, took the name James, and soon became a disciple of St. Bernardine of Siena, one of the greatest preachers of all time.
Little did he know… he would one day stand beside Bernardine as one of the three greatest Franciscan preachers of the century.
