Today, the Church celebrates one of the most beautiful and important moments in salvation history — the day God became man.

On this day, the angel Gabriel appeared to the Blessed Virgin Mary with a message that would change the world forever. Through Mary’s humble “yes,” Jesus Christ entered into human history.

This feast reminds us that God works through ordinary people who are willing to trust Him.

Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father,

On this holy day of the Annunciation,
we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through the obedience of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Your Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Lord, help us to imitate her faith and humility.
Teach us to say “yes” to Your plans for our lives,
even when we do not fully understand them.

Fill our hearts with courage, trust, and love,
so that we may follow Your will each day.

May Christ, who took on our human nature,
lead us closer to You.

Through the same Christ our Lord.

Annunciation of the Lord

The Annunciation of the Lord marks the moment when the Archangel Gabriel was sent by God to a young woman in Nazareth — the Virgin Mary.

Mary was living a quiet and humble life when she received a message that would change history forever.

Gabriel greeted her:

“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”

At first, Mary was troubled and wondered what this greeting meant. Then the angel revealed God’s plan — she would conceive and give birth to the Son of God.

This was not an easy moment.

Mary could have been afraid. She could have refused.

Instead, she trusted God completely.
