Catholic Prayer of the Day — March 26th

Today, as we journey through the Lenten season, the Church invites us to reflect on repentance, humility, and God’s boundless mercy.

It is a time to draw closer to God through prayer, sacrifice, and acts of love, trusting in His grace to renew our hearts.

🙏 Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father,
You are rich in mercy and full of compassion.
In this holy season of Lent, help us to turn away from sin
and open our hearts to Your transforming grace.

Teach us to walk in humility,
to forgive as You forgive,
and to love as You have loved us.

Strengthen us in times of weakness,
and guide us always on the path of righteousness.
May our prayers, fasting, and good works
bring us closer to You each day.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Saint of the Day: Saint Ludger

Saint Ludger (c. 742–809) was a devoted missionary and the first Bishop of Münster in present-day Germany. Born into a noble Christian family, he was educated in the renowned school of York under the guidance of the great scholar Saint Alcuin of York.

During a time when paganism was still strong in parts of Europe, Ludger dedicated his life to spreading Christianity among the Frisians and Saxons. His mission work was not easy—he faced resistance, political instability, and even exile during invasions. Yet, he remained steadfast in faith.

After years of missionary work, he was appointed bishop and established monasteries, schools, and churches. He emphasized education, charity, and pastoral care, becoming a spiritual father to many. Known for his humility and kindness, Ludger served his people faithfully until his death.

His life is a powerful story of perseverance, faith, and dedication to God’s mission even in difficult circumstances.
