As the Easter season nears its close, today’s liturgy calls us to reflect on Christ’s prayer for unity among His followers. We are reminded that Christian unity is not only a hope but a command, deeply rooted in the heart of Jesus.
In our personal lives and communities, we are invited to be instruments of peace and unity.
Daily Prayer
Lord Jesus,
You promised that our sorrow would turn into joy and that the Father hears our prayers in Your name.
Today, I lift up my burdens, my hopes, and my heart to You.
Help me be an agent of unity in my family, my parish, and the world.
May I carry Your peace within me and radiate it to others.
Through the intercession of Blessed Joseph Gerard,
may I serve others selflessly and trust You deeply. Amen

First Reading: Acts 18:9–18
The Lord speaks to Paul in a vision, encouraging him to keep preaching without fear in Corinth. Paul remains there for a year and a half, strengthening the early Church despite opposition.

Saint of the Day: Blessed Joseph Gerard
Though not a universally celebrated saint, today we remember Blessed Joseph Gerard, a French missionary to Southern Africa in the 19th century. He dedicated his life to the evangelization of the Basotho people (modern-day Lesotho), embodying humility, perseverance, and unwavering faith.
Interesting Facts:
- Born in 1831, he joined the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and was ordained in 1854.
- He was the first priest to bring the Catholic faith to the Kingdom of Lesotho.
- Known for his deep respect for local culture and relentless love for the people he served.
- Beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1988.
