As we continue our spiritual journey through October — the Month of the Holy Rosary — we are reminded to seek strength and grace through our Blessed Mother, who intercedes for us unceasingly

Prayer of the Day

A Prayer for Perseverance in Faith

Lord Jesus,
Strengthen me when my faith feels weak,
Encourage me when doubts arise,
And remind me that You are always near.
Help me to persevere in doing good,
To remain patient in trials,
And to trust Your timing in all things.

Mother Mary, guide my heart to remain steadfast,
That I may love, serve, and follow Jesus faithfully,
All the days of my life.

Mass Reading of the Day

Saint of the Day: Saint Pelagia the Penitent

Saint Pelagia lived in the 5th century in Antioch. She began her life far from holiness known as a famous actress and dancer, celebrated for her beauty and worldly lifestyle. Yet, her story became one of the most powerful examples of conversion and repentance in Christian history.

One day, while passing by a church, she heard the preaching of Bishop Nonnus. His words pierced her heart, and she was overcome with sorrow for her sins. Moved to tears, she sought baptism, renounced her former life, and gave away all her possessions to the poor.

Pelagia then fled to Jerusalem, disguised herself as a man, and lived in a small hermitage on the Mount of Olives under the name “Brother Pelagius.” For years, she lived in prayer, fasting, and solitude — unknown to all until her death, when her true identity was revealed.

Her journey reminds us that no sin is too great for God’s mercy, and that true repentance can transform even the darkest soul into a radiant witness of grace.
