Saint of the Day: Saint Pius V

Saint Pius V (1504–1572) was a Dominican friar who became pope during one of the most critical periods in Church history. He is most remembered for implementing the reforms of the Council of Trent, defending the Church against Protestantism, and organizing the victory at the Battle of Lepanto through the power of the Rosary. His leadership greatly strengthened Catholic identity and devotion.
