As we near the end of the Easter season, today’s Gospel reflects on Peter’s love for Christ and his mission to shepherd the Church. We also honor Saint Norbert, a reformer and Eucharistic champion, whose life reminds us of the call to purity, renewal, and service to the Church.
Let us unite our hearts in prayer, drawing from his legacy of passion and devotion.
Today’s Prayer
O God of all grace and glory,
You called Saint Norbert to be a tireless reformer and a defender of Your Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament.
Help us to imitate his courage, humility, and deep love for the Holy Eucharist.
Strengthen us in faith, purify our hearts, and guide us in serving others with truth and compassion.
May our lives be rooted in Your will and bear witness to the joy of the Gospel.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saint of the Day – Saint Norbert
Saint Norbert (c. 1080–1134) was born into nobility in Germany and lived a carefree youth. After a powerful conversion experience, he renounced worldly life and became a priest.
He founded the Premonstratensian Order (Norbertines) dedicated to preaching, community life, and Eucharistic devotion. He later became Archbishop of Magdeburg, reforming the clergy and defending the Church.
His devotion to the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist defined much of his legacy. He died on June 6, 1134.
Interesting Facts About Saint Norbert
- He experienced a miraculous conversion after being thrown from his horse during a thunderstorm.
- He founded the Norbertines in 1120, a community of canons regular.
- He fiercely defended the doctrine of the Eucharist during a time of doubt.
- He was appointed Archbishop against his will and accepted it only after prayer.
- His incorrupt body was moved to Prague in 1627, where it remains today
